Junior group
training program details
BEGINNERS
Beginner classes are for children with little to no previous experience with badminton at the time of registration. The focus of this group is to introduce the sport of badminton, learn rules of play, and establish basic fundamental skills. Court etiquette and good sportsmanship are integral components of this program
INTERMEDIATE
Intermediate classes are designed for players with previous badminton experience. The focus of this group is to build on the developed foundational skills and prepare for many more advanced techniques. Overall physical strength, fitness, and agility will be trained through various exercises, including skipping, multi-shuttle drills, and game drills
PRE-COMPETITVE
Players in this group demonstrate reliability at controlling the shuttle for across-net rallies and drills with fellow students. They are learning to apply their movements and shots in drills of various speeds and increasing complexity. Pre-competitive players may have an obvious performance gap between their best and weakest shots.
JUNIOR-COMPETITVE
This group is designed for juniors looking to further develop their skills as they strive to become consistently competitive players. Muscle memory will be developed through conditioning exercises to reinforce the efficiency of movements and footwork. Practices will primarily focus on conditioned drills, footwork, fitness, and strategic game play

SELECT B
Players in this group have identified badminton as their main sport. This is the first stage for young competitors within our tournament-stream of training. Students in this group are starting to compete in tournaments at the Junior regional and provincial levels
SELECT A
Students in this group are regular regional and provincial competitors throughout the year. Their focus during regular training is to compete at the Junior National and Pan-American levels.
HIGH PERFORMANCE
This high performance program is for committed athletes who actively compete - or have competed - at the provincial, national, and/or Pan-American levels. These athletes have sound technique, a well-rounded game, and are training regularly to push their technical skills, advance their game strategies, and sharpen their competitive edge
